Thanks for the rep. Not to derail the thread but I started making extensive lists of what I think is impressive music for each sound chip a while back, inspired by Kamahl's sound chip tribute threads. Paying special attention to the MD of course.
    Find it here: http://minirevver.weebly.com/impress...ound-chip.html

I ran out of steam from all the bad DOS YM3812 music out there, but I'll continue it at some point.

One of my personal favourites in the entire SMD library. Some later songs are pretty rad too. The sequel, Star Cruiser 2 on PC-98, also has some pretty great tracks. Anyway, here goes:

I'm thinking this one might sound better with the filter on the real hardware. Some of the higher notes in this are grating to listen to :/

It might just be me, but I tend to like the music in Devil Hunter Yoko for some reason. Might be because I also like the game, who knows.

Shadow Dancer has great music! It's one of the big things that impressed my friend and me when we first played it in 1990.

I hope to have a Star Cruiser translated on a cart headed my way shortly! I've played it a bit in emulation but just not the same of course. The music is really good though my favorite music in most Genesis games is pretty much anything from Matt Furniss and Yuzo Koshiro.

I made relaxing music compilation. Tracks on this video are not necessary calm, but all of those should be pretty relaxing, especially if listening from good quality speakers with volume level not crancked up to max.
I leveled all audio individually for volume to be equal, but I'm not sure how good I did this job.
All music recordings are done using original hardware, as I can't withstand emulator recordinds.
After rendering I saw that colors for video are wrong and washed out, I feel bad about this, but I hope that doesn't decrease enjoyment of this video.
I probably spent too much time for this project.

Allright, that's enought of talking, go check it out, please!

Both the Ecco games (carts, not CDs) have my favourite Genesis soundtracks tbh.

Some games have killer music for sure, but Ecco sounds more like a film being scored than just "lets give the game some great music" and thats pretty uncommon on 16-bit machines. Helps the games are awesome too.
