Default Bleach DS: Souten ni Kakeru Unmei

the soul Pretessesor to Yu Yu Hakusho: Makyo Toitsusen! (the genesis one made by Treasure) Sega and Treasure once again team up to bring that same style of insane, 4-player fighting madness that made the Genesis version such a classic to the Nintendo DS, now insted of fighting with Yusuke, Hihei, Kuruma and Kuwabara, prepare to lay the beatdown with Ichigo Kurosaki, Renji Abara, Byakuya Kuchiki, Orehime Onou and the rest of the gang from the mega hit series Bleach.

What makes this game so unique is that it's looks like a suped up version of the faimed Genesis game, with added zing to make the game better, such as Bankai modes and such, but if all that dosent sell you, how about a Wifi mode? now you can not only take the fights everywhere you go, but also fight anyone right in your fingertips! how awsome is that!

the game will be released on January 25th, i'll make a review of the game once it comes cause I already pre-ordered mine and all I need to do is wait.

Just to give you all a taist of whats to come, here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/?v=AEE2HHhdz7s

I can't say I really care much for Bleach (Reminds me too much of Dragon Ball Z and its ilk) but the Yu Yu Hakusho game is a fun fighter and something good always comes out of Treasure and Sega teaming up.

Yeah, I'm jazzed that it's Treasure, but I too am not fond of Bleach.

Or Naruto, while we're at it.

I just read the latest issue of Famitsu who reviewed the game and gave it 31/40. Way to go Treasure.

Not bad for a licensed product.... but then again we're talking about Treasure... a company that made a half decent game based on McDonalds.

I'm looking forward to the game, but as a fan of Bleach. And as a fan of Bleach, please don't ever compare it with the garbage that is DBZ. I had my misgivings about it before, but it turned out to be a really fun series. It starts out pretty cliched, but if you stick with it the story really starts building up.

Having read the original manga, yes you cannot compare it to DBZ. However I feel a lot of the manga has been lost in translation to the anime series and it is attracting that DBZ crowd who also happens to be fans of Naruto, even though Bleach is more mature than both those series.

sorry for the long wait, but loss of a job and the restructuring of my personal life has led to the delay. But it's all over now and I got the game, let's get on to busnsess with this game:

    Pros:

-a nice and solid fighter. Easy to pick up. Fans of the show will like it, Fighting fans will like it, Fans of the show who are fighting fans will LOVE it.
-an inpresive story mode witch goes threw the entire Soul Society Arc.
-the card system is great addition for a DS fighting game.
-suprisngly, it had a very good Download mode. (where 1 person has a cart and the others download) Even thogh the loading time is heavy, it's worth it to play as all the characters and to have all 4 ( and difrent) characters on screen at the same time.
-an inpresive selection of fighters from the series.
-a great online mode. Even has a rank-in fight to increase your Soul Points for more reputation.

    Cons:

-it may be easy, but at the same time, unforgiving at the same time in alot of aspects, such as missblocked moves or misstimed attacks.
-Story mode is 100% japanese, if you don't know japanese, your bonned, but this can be fixed with a visit to Gamefaqs.
-this seems to happend alot for Foreign players, but the wait for a fight online sometimes can last from 5 minutes to a good 3 hours.
-not to mention, since the game has been out for a while, veterin players are killing n00bs like nothing at this point.
-the game is REALLY unbalanced. Anyone who can use Ishida Uryu or Rukia easly have an advantage over other players. Everyone else, unless your really skilled, are SOL'ed.

Hopefuly Bleach DS 2nd will adress some of the issues that should be fixed, such as the unballance and the Unforgiving mistakes.

I give this game a solid 4. It would of been a 3 or a 2 if it didnt have it's online mode.
