Default Game name changes between Genesis & Mega Drive

When trying to find games, I've been confused before by thinking a game only exists in the Mega Drive version and not in the U.S. . A good example is when I played "Story of Thor" and liked it a lot, but thought it wasn't available in the U.S. until I realized it was called "Beyond Oasis".

Does anyone have a list of name changes such as these? The main reason I'm asking is that I'm looking for the game known as "Hurricanes", which I believe was only on the Mega Drive. But in this same manner, I'm wondering if it went by another name in the U.S.

Does anyone know? Thanks for any help !

The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

I can't find much info on that game and since it was a soccer platforming game of an obscure sport (To us American's anyways.) I highly doubt it was released here. But I oculd be wrong.

I didn't know that Ranger-X was called Ex-Ranza in Japan. Weird....

Also whats the deal with "Bare Knuckle" - Streets of rage is such a better name for the franchise.

It's been said before, but it must be done again: Thunder Force IV (EU/JP) = Lightening Force: Quest for the Darkstar (US)

Thunder Force II MD in Japan is simply Thunder Force II everywhere else(it's a very minor name change, but I think it should be listed).

Bare Knuckle in Japan is Streets of Rage elsewhere.

That's all I know that hasn't already been mentioned.

Damn you guys know your stuff. Hopefully this will help some other gamers out Thanks! Looks like I may be out of luck with that Hurricanes game. Oh well there's always the possibility of a modded Genesis.

As much as Decap Attack and Magical Hat or Streets of Rage 3 and Bare Knuckle III.

    - I did some checking on Hurricanes, and it's a European exclusive (by Arc Developments for US Gold), and it is a totally different and superior game in comarision to the SNES version (by Probe). It's often compared to Marko's Magic Football which was released in Europe and the US. Even a SegaCD prototype (of Marko's Magic Football) exists which recently was released for SegaCD.
