it would be nice to see a full list of SMD games and SCD games with user opinions (rated 1-10) on each game.
dispite the huge amount of titles there are maybe 40 SMD games and maybe 30 SCD games worth bothering with at all, tops.

A few comments on some of the games mentioned...
M1 Abrams Battle Tank- I had fun with this back in the day. It's true that it plays like a simplified simulator, but I enjoyed it.
Hard Drivin'- A fair driving game that starts getting dull after the third lap around the track. It was amusing for a what it was at the time (a decent port), but the arcade game's much better frame rate made it more enjoyable than the Genesis port.
Red Zone- I loved this game. Hard as hell to be sure, as it really beat the player into the ground. Even so, I enjoyed playing through this one, and even beat it without cheating. The controls for the on-foot missions were rather mushy, but the rest of the game was fun.
F-15 Strike Eagle II- Not a bad simulator once you understand the controls. Turned out pretty well I thought.
Altered Beast- A decent port of the arcade game, but it's not exactly a killer app. Shame it came out so early in the life span of the system. I'd love to see how it would have turned out as an 8Mb or even 16Mb cart. Gets old fast, but it's still fun to pop it in once in a while and play through it.
As for my picks...
Dark Castle- This is... I mean... WTF EA?
Slaughter Sport- Bad graphics, bad visual design, horrid controls, REALLY bad music... Razorsoft strikes again!
Sword of Sodan- Looks great paused, and even the one song is decent. But hold shit does it play piss poorly.
X-Perts- Um... no. Sure, the graphics are pretty good, but the rest of the game is just dull, poorly implemented garbage.
Warpspeed- This Wing Commander knock-off is just plain boring. It tries, but it just can't hold a candle to the game that it tries to copy.
The Earth Defend- Yes, I own this game. I found it at a flea market, and curiosity made me buy it. It's... bad. I had more fun with Divine Sealing than with this game.

I'd know how bad Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Race Drivin' are...I'm the one who made the videos you featured! BTW I removed the Indiana Jones one because I was unhappy with it.

So no one has mentioned Weaponlord...
If somebody asked me about Weaponlord, I would explain that it does have some very serious fans who consider it "arguably the best fighting game available on the 16-bit consoles," like the reviewer on this site.
But I would also mention that I found it unbearably slowwww, and quite difficult and complicated, while the graphics are muddy and hard to see clearly! I have not played the SNES version so I can't comment on that one, but I really could not get into the Genesis version. It just made me want to play Street Fighter II (which I'm actually good at), on a very fast setting!
I'd probably suggest people avoid Weaponlord, unless they are drawn to a SFII type of game which is slower, more complicated and difficult, with muddy graphics!
Battletech:
It was a poorly controlled, slowed down copy of MechWarrior 3050.
Heavy Nova:
The slowest side-scrolling beat-em-up of all time.
Race Drivin':
Horrible physics, glitchy deaths, and bad level design.
This video I made shows it all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpSBp3YuKgU

So far I've only come across two MD games that I would class as absolute arse:
Rise Of The Robots- I was unfortunate enough to have bought this game brand new back in the day, wasting a month's worth of spending money on the damn thing. Needless to say I was absolutely gutted. Definitely the worst MD game out there.
The second is Home Alone. I know a few people who like the game surprisingly, but seriously, 20 minutes per game, the same five houses in the same places in the same tiny neighborhood every time you play it, what were they thinking.
I disagree with quite a few of the games mentioned in this thread though, especially Greendog which is one of my favourite platformers. Big fan of EA sports games too![]()

maxium carnage just as dull
double dragon games 2 and 3 what a piece of shit\
street of rage 3 also a piece of shit

Fatal Labyrinth, oh do I loathe that steaming pile of dung.
Every Sports Game? Dude, there has to be at least one sports game you like.
I hate Fatal Labyrinth and every sports game.
...
FYI.
...
Seriously, like every one.
I just picked up Growl and played through it. Ugh, please do not bother. I was always waiting for the game to pick up, and it never does. The game just drags on, awful in every way.
It came out 1991, same year as Streets of Rage and Sonic 1!
How was this game released the same year as those classics? Growl resembles a bad NES game. Is there some kind of story or reason behind this unbelievably bad game?
