Default Mega Drive games you wish had come to the Genesis (US)

I was playing Pulseman recently, when I realized that it was such a shame that it was never released in the states. I loved playing it on the Sega Channel back in the day, but was never so lucky to own a copy. Same goes for Golden Axe 3. Sega of America had their head up their ass in 1994.

So what Mega Drive games do you feel should have had a US release?

Mega Man The Wily Wars also comes to mind.

Mega Man Wily Wars in cartridge form. I probably would have bought it back in the day as I became hooked to the cartoon series that was running back then.

For all intents and purposes it's no different living in the UK anyway, I know I've never seen a copy of Alien Soldier or Wily Wars in a shop in my entire life either, the only place you see those games is ridiculously priced auctions on Ebay.

The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

Nobody mentioned Monster World IV yet?

Personally I think the two games that needed to be released outside of Japan the most where Monster World IV and Pulseman.

Are there any good Japanese games that don't have a region lockout chip? Now that I've got my X'Eye, I'd like to take advantage of that larger slot.

Anyone know around what time they started adding those region lockouts?

This game never came out in the US. It received a release in Europe and Japan however.

That is some nice concept art for the "planned" US release.

Oh and I'm going to have to check out this Monster World IV. Never played it... love the series though. How did I miss this?

YTF was Mega Man never released here anyways. I mean it was huge on Nintendo systems and it only made sense to bring it here.

In the US, it was released for the Sega CD. It was released for the MegaDrive in the UK on cartridge, and it came out for the Amiga CD32 there as well. Not sure if it ever saw a release in Japan, or on the Mega CD.
