Actually, X6 was terrible. Check out Skullmonkeys, though.
Yeah I have 8, X4, and X5. Honestly I have not played many of them yet. I totally backed up on games to play right now.
I know Croc was a kids game but for me when I was playing PS1 I was only about 7 or 8 years old that series is a personal favorite.
I have zero nostalgia relating to the PlayStation. I never owned one. I own a PlayStation 2 however.
It kinda went like, grew up with a Mega Drive and Gameboy Color, got a 64 but never really any games apart from Pokemon Stadium 2, got a Gameboy Advance and PS2 (I never used it for 5 months, I was initially very unimpressed with my gift, it was around 2002), and well, pretty much skipped that generation.
Being only 17 in this day and age makes me sad on how much nostalgia I probably miss out on.
I remember seeing the first videogames at the age of 6 and it was great for its time. Still, I envy the kids that started out their gaming experiences with the NES and Genesis consoles. Those were the times when (console) videogames really started to become more than just poorly translated arcade games and repetitive gameplay.
The only thing I really miss from the 70's and 80's was how great the arcade scene was. The peak of arcade gaming is beyond explaining, you just had to be there.
A Black Falcon: no, computer games and video games are NOT the same thing. Video games are on consoles, computer games are on PC. The two kinds of games are different, and have significantly different design styles, distribution methods, and game genre selections. Computer gaming and console (video) gaming are NOT the same thing."
I agree wholeheartedly with Knuckle Duster and johnnyb. Final Fantasy VIII is by far the best PlayStation entry of the franchise, and imo, the second-best title overall* (after Final Fantasy XII).
*also only if we're disregarding Final Fantasy Tactics
I really like the script, the voice acting and the gameplay just really clicks with me. I like the license board and the gambit system is pretty fun, you can do some cool stuff with it. I guess it helps that I haven't extensively delved into any MMORPGs, too.
The story suffers from the fact that the dude behind it was unable to complete it, but it is still very enjoyable and I think the most fun to play. Personally it's really hard for me to go back to (most) older RPGs, they're just so stale.
Just downloaded Einhiender for Bleemcast. Never had a PS1
