    Default Sega CDX game compatibility

So I've been reading... There is a bit of confusion about what games work on the CDX and what games don't...

    My problem games

Prince of Persia (can't get past the menu)
    Final Fight CD (same issue)

Some have said they can't get Terminator to work.. but it works beautifully for me!

Anyone had any problems with specific games?

Are you sure the discs aren't scratched/dirty?

Yeah nothing like that, and I have originals and backup copies.... And neither work for POP or FFCD...

Prince of Persia and Final Fight CD both work fine on my CDX. Admittedly, haven't played very far into either one, but they get well past the menu screen.

Interesting... you ever tried Terminator... it's not suppose to work... but it does on mine...

No, I haven't. The games I mentioned are legit originals, but I don't have Terminator.

I think every CDX has different taste in games, so some they will just refuse to play.

CDX should not have any issues with any games other than what are caused by parts that interface with external storage mediums.

1.8 Are there any compatibility problems?

    One or two.
Every single Genesis game I've ever tried has worked 100% fine. Even Virtua
Racing. I've not heard of a game not working on this unit.
The SegaCD portion however is a tad more fussy. It is believed that the
following games do not work -

    Radical Rex
    Terminator
    Who Shot Johnny Rock?

Jurassic Park is said to take a long time to load, but does actually work.
Some people have reported issues with Lunar Silver Star... hanging on menu's
and the like. For ever person who claims it does not work tho, about 5 claim
it does. I'm pretty sure it works fine.
It's worth remembering people say the same about the SegaCD2, so it might be an
    issue inherited from that.

There are a few Sega-CD titles that are not compatible with the CDX:

    Jurassic Park
    Radical Rex
    Terminator
    Who Shot Johnny Rock?

    ---------------------------------

And I found it somewhere that had information about Final Fight & Prince of Persia not working... but I can't find it anymore....

I can confirm that someone else's Terminator did work for it. I know that Jurassic Park works, it's just very slow, same with Who Shot Johnny Rock? Good luck ever getting ahold of Radical Rex to test it out. I think they made like five or so and thought that'd be enough to go around.

Folks will have to be more specific with their reports. I just played Who Shot Johnny Rock and The Terminator for a little while on my CDX, and both work fine.

I've tested Jurassic Park & Terminator as well... and they both work fine... but this is all the information I could find about some games not working on CDX. And my problems are Final Fight CD and Prince of Persia.

Prince Of Persia and Final Fight work fine on my CDX. Road Avenger and Cobra Command has freezing issues for me. Sometimes I can get past the 1st level and then in the middle of the 2nd level, the game freezes so I have to restart the darn thing. This happens on both games.

Well it looks like CDXs really do have a taste in games.
