Watch your back, shoot straight, and never cut a deal with the dragon. (from Shadowrun)
I know it's an old review, but I really to love this game so I like reading what other's opinions of it are. Especially since I think it's a real overlooked gem. One thing I can't agree with the reviewer on is the music. I love the music and I would listen to it without the game. I didn't find it forgettable at all. Also, while I agree it was kind of lazy to have repeated bosses at times. I never really noticed it much or cared. I would honestly give the game at least an 8 out of 10. It's still one of my favorite Genesis games.
I remember this game as being quite hyped back when I got my MD, and I can understand why. Visually, this game is absolutely delightful, with its colorful steampunk aestethics, humongous enemies and nice parallax scrolling. Too bad all of this gets slightly spoiled by an ever-omnipresent slowdown that actually ends up hurting the gameplay a bit. And that's too bad, because it's quite an accessible game without ever being boring, but alas… It sounds good, too.
A very good, if slightly flawed, shooter.
