I'm sure it can be modded to support Genesis controllers just like the GN Twin and Gen-X. All those clones do is take (Super) NES controller signals and convert them to the controller signals that a Genesis would understand, since they're different. I figured out how to get Genesis controllers working on a Gen-X and GN Twin, but since I have no FC3 Plus, I can't help anyone on that end.

FC3 Plus also doesn't work for Virtua Racing. I think the video lacks the odd tinge some other close have though. (I think Ace mentioned the Gen-X and/or GN-Twin having a greenish tint)

Yeah, those 2 have a little too much green in their video output. Not to mention, they have a bad sound circuit that causes really bad sound output in the form of volume balance problems(PSG is too silent) and straining. While you can fix the bad sound, you can't fix the green tint. I think the TecToy-580G ASIC in the Gen-X and GN Twin has both RGB and Composite video output straight off the chip. I think that while TecToy's ASIC has too much green out of its Composite output, if someone finds the RGB output pins, the video tint problems can be fixed that way, and you can add Sega 32X compatibility.

Cool. So I think I might chase a FC3. Do NES & SNES games work as they should. And for the Genesis emulation, if you could round it to the 3 Genesis's that were released, which one would it be ? And how is the Genesis emulation on the console? Also, if someone has the chance, when getting the RetroGEN could you review the SD slot? And does anyone know if the SD Slot can read download roms? That's why I'm confused, because if the RetroGEN can, it'll be like cartridges & ROMs.

Lol, sorry for my bad typing. I like to rush my account. Don't take this personally, but I just rush my texts if I know I'm not going to stay on here forever. (Just wanted my questions answered)

    Anyway, thx.

Only time will tell if the SD slot can be used for ROMs too and whether emulation is of an acceptable quality (which sadly seems unlikely).

The FC3plus is a real clone, and not an emulation based unit like most of the other hardware we've seen released lately.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

Shooting for both over here. My love for it will be determined which is easier to mod. I think the Hyperkin will be, best guess, because it has the cart slot; things will be larger in some cases and already have lines going to the cart slot.

But still no way to tell without having it right here. So I am still reserving judgment.

Personally, I won't mod the thing. Just want a portable device that can play my eu mega drive games, and hopefully genesis/jp aswell. And ofcourse atleast a decent battery length.

If it could I doubt it would work with anything other than the fire core, I'd imagine that any games played from there (and possibly the built-in games as well) get loaded from flash into RAM onboard the system and played from there. (like a PC emulator or the way some flash carts work, except they have their own RAM to copy to which is treated as ROM by the console)
