Default The ****ing NERVE of Craigslist people

I posted several of my Transformers on local Craigslist, aksing HALF of what I paid for the damn things.

Cheapskate local yokel sends these emails-

    For the big $25 toy-

    Hi,

without the FRIGGIN box, the damn thing is only worth $15.00, CASH in Hand or otherwise. If you want to sell it, my demands are: $15.00 if you meet me half way. $10.00 if I pick-up.

    Respectfully
For the large lot of smaller toys

You must be the SAME guy that is selling the Star Wars transformer. Once again without orig packaging, you don't have "Jack crap." Just a bunch of used toys.

I don't give a "rat's ass" what you paid for it. that is YOUR LOSS or just maybe your gain.

Maybe we can work out a deal, instead of some "BUTT HEAD" telling a potential customer what he will accept.

If this price is your only condition, don't even bother to contact me.

I am sure that your e-mail is just JAMMED with people that can' t wait to get your stuff.

I am interested in your stuff, but I want to be able to negociate a price more akin to some one who has reduced the value of his stuff to toys.

    Respectfully

So this COCKSUCKER insults me, yells at me, tries to convince me I'm an idiot, then demands I sell him the goods at a reduced price.

To the first email, I sent him this-

My demands are: you rot in hell

    Disrespectfully
    And to the second

You want these toys? If you're going to talk that way to me, sir, you can kindly FUCK THE HELL OFF you fucking shithead! You don't cop that attitude and get your way. What are you, ten years old?

Matter of fact, you can burn in hell alongside that fucking criminal asshole that was selling ROM CDs and making empty, meaningless legal threats.

I was sorely tempted to arrange a bogus meet with you just to make you waste gas, but you're not worth the trouble.

Seriously, the FUCK is wrong with CL buyers? This jackoff thinks he can get his way talking like that? He's lucky I don't post his email address and name in a public place for that. Everyone thinks they can buy much anything for $1 or less on CL and screw the sellers, right?

Next one of these brainless pinheads I run into...

Hmm, I'll bring this up now.

I have 5 NES games I've been trying to sell for $15. That's $3 each. What few people contact me try to offer much less, then demand I drive over an hour to deliver the games, thereby wasting every last cent of the sale on gas.

So in the next couple of days I'll be taking all 5 of the cartridges and busting them with a damn hammer, then photographing the pieces and listing the debris for sale. Games are Zelda II, Spiritual Warfare, Crystalis, and boxed copies of Krion Conquest and Startropics. But if these jackasses won't buy them then they take up room so I might as well do as I please with them. I get rid of unwanted junk one way or the other.

    1) People are jackasses with an overblown sense of self.
    2) People think they can strongarm their way to what they want.

I empathize, though. I would want to burn that guy with fire after those emails.

Craigslist has been pretty cool for me when getting games... but I've only used it a few times when some goodies have popped up.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

Don't bust your NES games. Sooner or later you'll find some kid starting a collection who will take them off your hands and the world will be a better place.

But yeah, what do you expect off Craigslist? Ignore.

Rather than toss your old stuff, donate it to charity and write it off your taxes. You can usually get more on the receipt than you'd have gotten from selling it at a yard sale or CL.

I say you take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

I'm one of those people I suppose... not really, but kind of. I would never be an ass or say anything like that, but a lot of times that's what I'm thinking. Mostly when it comes to Ebay though, I never use Craigslist.

I've said it before but, for example, when I see a Saturn port listed for $50 while there is also a PSX port (which in all honestly is probably better) listed for $5.00, I'm not thinking very highly of the seller charging $50. I wish I could tell him "Who the fuck do you think you are? Now, sell that damn thing cheaper!!", but I know it would blow my chances.

I just don't see value in used merchandise. I don't expect to shell out for it, and I don't expect to get crap for it myself when selling, that's why I never sell. I keep almost everything, what little I don't, I give away, throw away, or let go for nothing in a yard sale. Needless to say I still own pretty much every game I've ever owned.

That guy was an ass to you, but still, don't smash the games! Why not ask them to pay a tiny bit more for the cost of a bubble mailer and send it to them USPS? You could just pick one up on your next trip out.

I don't think I have ever had anyone that bad on Cragslist. I find it amazing that all that was over toys. Don't get me wrong I have a bunch G1 Transformers that are dear to me but I can't imagine anyone freaking out that much over something like that.

I usually just get asshole low ballers who waste my time on things I am selling far far bellow what they should go for anyways.

Maybe you should set up a meeting in the middle of nowhere and simply never show up.

This guy sounds like a complete dipshit, I'm not sure I would have even dignified those messages with a reply.

It amazes me how people think they can actually continue a transaction after basically calling the seller an asshole that doesn't know the value of their own items. My only image of craigslist is a bunch of guys that look like thugs with half grown mustaches and baggy pants trying to get cheap warez or something

As much of an asshole he was, admittedly, you did egg him on a bit with your first response. Whenever I get a message like that, I deal with them respectfully and intelligently, to make them feel that much dumber, because they're usually looking for an argument.

I think its better to just ignore them completely. People like that do not understand logic.

Diosoth has said nothing here, or in his other thread regarding CL to make me favor his opinion for an otherwise valid argument.

    What I see is:
'Guy's an asshole -> Clever Response Asking For More -> Profane complaining here about it.'

It only took him 12 minutes of waiting for some feedback spawned self gratification, before he posted about 'Smashing his NES games'

Diosoth ... Fuck off and grow up.

    Wow De-javue this thread..

Diosoth one question how old are you?

Why do you care what they message you..just ignore it and keep posted until someone else buys it or just ebay it.. that simple?

'He's lucky I don't post his email address and name in a public place for that'

You would really sink to that kind of level and waste your time. You just be as bad as they are.
