Yeah, I wonder who made that decision to change it to SyFy instead of sticking to the classic Sci-Fi name.

I really hope I get to watch them when they do come out. I can see another spinoff now that Atlantis has returned to Earth and the Gou'ld are gone as well as the Orii. Now they have the Lucian Alliance to contend with.

They changed it to distance themselves as being viewed as just a science-fiction channel, they want to branch out to other programs such as reality shows and dramas - it's silly, Sci-fi are what made them, all their doing is losing what made them unique in the first place...

Well, they've already canceled the SGA TV movie. If the second half of the going out season doesn't pick up higher ratings, or only picks up during the David Hewlett/Robert Picardo episodes, I don't think anyone will be seeing more Stargate for a while on TV.

It's too bad, because Rush's character was getting even better.

Heck yeah, Rush's character was getting great, very deep-- something they should have done way before now. Character development has been strong since the Stargate original film, they should have stuck with it.

<sigh> another cancellation I hadn't heard about. Great. This thread motivated me to watch Continuum again last night and it was a great flick. Can't say as much for Ark of Truth, kind of a let-down ending.

It would really be nice if MGM would market it differently and do maybe a new game that wasn't a mmorpg, better shirts and stuff, too. Now I am rambling.

I'm officially done watching every Stargate episode. It has definitely been my favorite SciFi series-saga of all time. But I'm sad atm. I wanted a resolution! All I ask for now is a straight-to-dvd film tying all three series. And now everything else is cancelled with only the premise of a return to the original film (with the original actors). I really love that 94 film, but if I find it golden, then the TV saga simply became a priceless gem. No matter how they put it, I will always find them part of two different canons successfully tried in different ways (kind of like how many see Tombstone vs. Wyatt Earp).

    On another note:
What happened? Why only two seasons for SGU? Stargate Universe was outstanding. I, personally, believe the drop in ratings had less to do with the "change in schedule" and more to do with the "second decade of the 00s". Honestly, TV/Cable/Sat.etc. is decaying fast. We consumers have become an obligate online venue. Oh well, I could go on and on...

Okay, my reply didn't make it, so here goes again.

What happened to Atlantis since it went back to Earth?? What about Shepperd and the gang? McKay?

How about Daniel Jackson's assistant thaty was with SG-1 for a little while? I'd like to know how he's doing.

We now have fighter space ships, the F-302's and they need a series of their own!

What kind of cool things does Eli do to pass time on board the Destiny? WE WANT TO KNOW!

That's all I can remember. Come on Canadawood! Hook us up!!

6 feet under. Did you miss the SG-1 episode where he was killed not much more than a season after he was introduced? Or are you talking about a different assistant. I just finished watching the entire SG-1 series in marathon fashion over about five weeks, so everything is still a blur.

I really need to catch the other two series.

Was he?? There was a guy that went on with SG-1 in his place for a little while, Jack was giving him a ton of crap for being the new guy. Jeez, I can't remember if he died or not.

Yes, you appear to be speaking of the guy with a black beard and glasses who had somewhat of an anxiety issue. He became a goa'uld during a mission on the Unas planet and was subsiquently killed by Teal'c.

That settles it, time to watch the series again.

But seriously, I like Stargate. Awesome show. Atlantis was somewhat disappointing.

Well, Atlantis was a great departure from the Stargate norm, sure, but I liked it for what it was, an expedition and a new attitude what with the Goul'd and replicators "back home." One theme I really liked was the evil scientist of Micheal. I have to say that was a stroke of writing genius, to include such an old-school idea to Atlantis. A lot of the plotlines reminded me of role playing scenarios from D&D from back in the day, and I really liked that.

Here's to hoping they will make DVD movies really soon. I mean they're making those cheesy monster flicks on SyFy, why not another few SG films? Get it together, SYFY!

Sorry to dig this old post up, but what series and episode are you referring to here?

I believe he's talking about the two hour Pilot episode for SG-1. When I saw it I thought WTF, that's awesome and unexpected, then I remembered that it originally aired on Showtime - and sadly there was no more nudity after that. Talk about a tease.
