They already made a Dreamcast, why make another one? I think they should make a completely new console instead.

    Sonic

Dreamcast 2, Sega Phoenix, RingEdge, RingWide, you name it. 'No question about it, I'd be setting up camp outside of Best Buy a month in advance. All I'd need for sustenance are cheetos and a portable sega genesis.

I really hope SOMEONE comes out with a new console soon. We need some more variety.

I would definitely buy a new Atari console if it came out.

Come on Sega! Come on Atari!

Wouldn't it be interesting if someone came out with a 2D only console! I would totally buy it! Nothing but amazing 2D graphics! Side Scrolling Heaven! The late 20's early 30's is a big market!

Even if it was made from the old Atari Corp. president Jack Tramiel.

As cool as it is that wont happen. This my take on it from a business side.

If they had a system with these attachement to play the old carts. There would be no money in it for sega since no sales anymore of the old games. So the Wii VC will take care of that to a extent. however what hasnt been done is Saturn/DC games for DL. So Sega should think hey lets do a another console called Dreamcast 2..no how about a SEGA WaveCast and instead of a swirl lets do a simple Wave symbol. Where this machine can bring the some old SEGA waves to the gamers. Downloadable content of Saturn games and DC games and of course to jump start the gamers the legendary titles of Sonic 1,2,3 already built in. What Media would this system play? simple Flash cards like Hue card or DS card like media. simple to program for and keep the games fun and not over techincal. That can be left for the ps3 and xbox's releases where are sales are crap in. Oh and the hardware will be made by Sony since the PS3 is dying and no PS4 is going to happen. PS4 will be code name for SEGA ~ WaveCast ~

What do you think sounds good!

DO IT SEGA, and Credit SEGA-16 for the success

No shit, I would be all over that thing in a heartbeat. I would make the change though of having it compatible natively with colecovision instead, seeing as how the colecovision has an adapter to play atari 2600 games. That would be the ultimate console. Fuck it, may as well play pc-engine stuff as well so its at least as good as the laseractive. And it goes without saying that it would have to play laseractive laserdisk games as well. Fucking hyperion and rocket coaster muthafucka. Damn I'm nerdy

They still have a Arcade department with research and development capabilities so at any point there tech guys can make the jump from arcade board to home console. Most likely using the newest arcade board available.

RingEdge and RingWide at the moment.

Couldn't be much worse than Ray Kassar... (well he was good for the start of the 2600, but he was also a significant contributor to the '83 crash, along with a lot of Warner management, Tramiel set out to his on devices- ie the ST and wasn't particluarly interested in pushing games- though not ignorant of them either)

Seriously though, I'm not realy interested in Infogrames producing a console...
Well, a new one at least, some Atari clones would be nice, licecing another Flashback -this time with a cartridge port built-in (Flashback 2 had provisions for modding, FB1 wasn't even a real clone, dumb NES on a chip...), or even 7800 compatibility -with some built-in games as well. Not to mention a handheld version.

At least Sega stil has components of the old Sega, Atari's nothing but a name anymore, in fact I think you could argue Sega-Samy is closer to the old Sega than Atari Corp was to Atari Inc. (a lot more like Atari Games to Atari Inc. -arcade machines and 3rd party games/licences with some of the old Atari Inc. employees remaining)
6 days older than SEGA Genesis
