What about "New Super Mario Bros."? or "Paper Mario"? (regarding the latter, oh right, you hate all RPGs...)
The funny thing about an oxymoron is, even if you remove the ox, there'll always be a moron. The Question Remains: Y?
...or Mario 64? Or Mario Kart DS (which is regarded by many as the best in the series)? Even Mario Sunshine was good. What about Mario vs Donkey Kong? And the Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi games sidestep most of the RPG elements that fellows like 17days hate.
Come to think of it, I haven't played a Mario title yet that I haven't enjoyed.
Weird that you mention that, as Super Paper Mario is the least RPG-ish, and the only one I didn't really care for. I found it rather annoying...
I didn't like Mario Kart DD that much either (it was OK), don't care for some of the mario party games (and all seem too time consuming for me), I liked Mario Tennis on N64, but newer ones haven't seem to improved, Mario Strikers on GC was OK, the Wii one isn't that much fun though.
I didn't love Galaxy either, my btother liked it a bit more, but it wasn't that engaging for me, 64 or Sunshine are my favorite 3D Mario games (a toss up), and Yoshi's Island for 2D hands down.
It means that when Nintendo is wanting some extra moo-la, they shoehorn Mario's fat ass into some game and watch as fans with a boner for Mario eat it up.
That is also the only reason I can think of why Sega makes money on these newer Sonic games, some people love Sonic so goddamn much they gotta have him as a "werehog".
I know, that's what I just said: those games have not a goddamn thing to do with Mario and dumbasses need to stop buying them without evaluating them to see if they are steaming shitpile first. If people wouldn't buy them, they wouldn't make them, like I said in this and 242345324 other threads, the only way things will get better is if people stop buying the shitty games. The only way to do that is to make an attempt (however feeble) to educate these people before they put $60 in some asshole's pocket only to get home and go "aw man, this is terrible!"
