I would drop the class. Period. Never take that professor again. BUT FIRST: Talk to the Dean or Department Chairman/Chairperson. Trust me. College professors have no right to call your place of work without your consent.

However. You shouldn't register for a class unless you know you can make it on time for the duration of the semmester. It's your responsibility as a college student; scratch that, it's your responsibility as an adult.

You shouldn't have said anything in the first place. Just don't show on days you need to do something else. You should only EVER talk to the professor about missing a class if it's on a day that a test is scheduled for. Then you should talk about rescheduling the test around your work. You're PAYING to take the class - you're the customer here, so don't let the product dictate terms to you.

There was no test, firstly. Secondly, I work full-time and SOME TIMES work will conflict with school, its a part of life. I thought by informing my teacher I was being considerate.

I always let my teachers know when I would miss class, but I also didn't have psycho hose beast teachers, and went to a community college.

As much as attending class is something a responsible adult is to do, knowing that work is also a fact of life is something that a responsible adult should also know.

Unless you've been pulling some "I can't come in" crap with the class on a frequent basis, I don't really see where it is any concern of the professor if actually are at work or not.

Sorry, but if I was him I would probably be hesitant to buy it as well. I could easily claim I had a meeting at my engineering job, but the truth is, I can't really think of a situation where that would be necessary during class time, unless I had to personally meet with one of our clients ASAP. If you mentioned that you are a part owner (I remembered you talking about it, I didn't know you went ahead with it), I would be even more suspicious as it would seem you would be able to call the shots more than that to schedule around class time.

Blowing the whistle on the guy, in my experience, probably won't do shit. I tried that on the sandwich teacher and I got fucking crucified by him during the meeting with the department head and afterwards the department head basically told me to "let it go." Nevermind I was stuck with an F because the fucking douchebag literally lied to us about what was allowed to be used on several tests, suddenly banning calculators on tests that contained decimal long division or promising formula sheets and then not providing them or asking us to work problems that had nothing like it in the homework or the textbook or during class. The next semester I made a B in his class because I knew all of his tricks, which just proves how much my first grade was his fault for being an incosistent teacher rather than me being stupid or a bad student.

That said, I think professors are almost all narcissistic d-bags that think you need to smell their farts of greatness. College attendance should NEVER be mandatory. Pop quizzes are bullshit as well. Every single point should be accounted for and given in a schedule at the beginning of the semester. College is for YOU, it should be up to YOU to decide what you need to do to pass the class and have the proper materials to determine that. Work is totally different because you are being paid to be there, I'M paying to sit through these classes and if I think the piece of shit teacher has nothing to offer, I should be free to stay home and learn from the book. College faculty can collectively blow me, I can't begin to tell you how much I hate all levels of the education system in this country, its a fucking disgrace.

Shit, I need to check Rate my Professor... I recall a few shitty teachers, like this one douche bag who treated us like shit and thought he was teaching at harvard, and the one who met with me about going in the AF.

Fun story: I failed this guys class, but to be honest I didn't give a shit about the class. Cool guy though. He looked like Uwe Boll, but not as douchey, and is/was the mayor of some village back home. He married some hot chick who looks a lot like Kristen Kreuk.

Sounds like a teacher that takes every bit of power and authority that is given to him/her. Sending a complaint to the dean is a good solution. Now if I am getting this right the teacher asked the class for you work-place so they can verify this for you.

Don't talk to him about it or make a complaint in any way, in fact let the whole thing die down. Pretend you actually are cool with the dude and make sure other students in your class think you like him, say he is hard but fair or some crap. Do a little reconnaissance work, find out what he drives. On a hot day he might leave the window down a little on his car. Casually walk by and toss some drugs and porno mags into his vehicle so that it is in plain view on the seat. Go to a pay phone and call the police, use an old lady voice or a ridiculous accent and a fake name and say you were just walking by and noticed a drug deal on campus and you got the license plate # and tell em where the car is. Watch for his name in the paper and enjoy your deliciously cold revenge. Hopefully he will try and resist arrest and the cops taize him.

I really don't miss writing bullshit papers, but the CAD classes I took were fun.
