If Sony did offer Dreamcast games on PSN, I don't think very many people would download them. Sure, people who remember the Dreamcast and people interested in retro games might download them, but most people I know when they remember the Dreamcast say: "Oh, you mean that crappy system that Sega made? Man did that ever suck!" despite the fact that they've never played any games on the machine.

How can you not love this? The prospect of getting ANY shmups on PSN makes this instantly an aweosome idea. Even if they were just straight up ports that would be rad, but add world-wide leader boards, online co-op, or possibly even trophies (doubt it though) and this would be the things dreams are made of.

It's a standard business practice, 17days. If Sega were still in the console or handheld business, Genesis games wouldn't be on any other platform, including the iPhone. That's just common sense.

    Did Nintendo kick your kitten?

I already responded to that, but it's not that clear. Remember that Sega had been releasing their games outside of their own hardware since the mid 90s (well technically there were some before that, but those were really early, like licenced games in the US like Zaxxon -before the SG-1000, and some games for Famicom -like Altered Beast, which made sense given the huge popularity, plus there were still later multiplatform releases of arcade titles like Golden Axe and Out Run).
But specifically, I mean the Sega PC games, so it's not that clear what things might be like. (though not releasing stuff on competing platforms, but maybe other things like Cell phones/iPhone/iPodtouch as well as PC)

No, he's an old time Nintendo fan who got screwed by the N64.
6 days older than SEGA Genesis

My first Nintendo console was actually the N64, having grown up with a Genesis. I was used to hearing how superior the SNES was from my peer group, so when the next batch of consoles came out, I decided I should go with the 64.

Suffice to say, I've been less than impressed with Nintendo ever since.
