Default Sonic 3(&K) and Star Wars

Upon watching Star Wars for the first time, did anyone else think:

"teh OMGZ! That death star is a total rip off of the Death Egg!!!!!!!11111"

    - (yes, I first saw star wars in 1996)

Yeah and let's see, the Death Star was first shown in 1977 and S and K's Death Egg was first shown in what 1993-4ish. I think the ripoff is the other way around.

I remember hearing Holst Mars for the first time and realizing that Williams must have listened to a more than a few times when he wrote the score for Star Wars.

It's from a show in the UK (I forgot what it's called). In the show when kids needed help in a video game, they would get beamed up into this freaky world and they would ask the guy in JDB1983's avatar advice on how to get unstuck, or cheat at the game they were playing.

I totally thought Star Wars was ripping off the Sonic series when I first saw the Death Star back in 1977 at area theaters.

I was totally shocked to find out that a video game took inspiration from another entertainment medium.

It's Patrick Moore, you heathen. Our second national treasure named Patrick.

    ...he plays the xylophone! (seriously)

It's a picture of SIR Patrick Moore (The monocle wearing world renowned astronomer - he contracted work to NASA in mapping the moon in the 60s) - He's the host of a show called 'The Sky at Night' which is has been on BBC2 at 2am every month for the past 52 years.

He was the semi-host of the second greatest games show in the UK called Gamesmaster (the best being Bad Influence of course) where kids who where stuck would ask his all-knowing disembodied his head for codes and clues (although it was sometimes apparat that Sir Patrick had no idea what he was talking about)

He also plays the Xylophone with Prodigy and is good friends with Queen guitarist Brian May - There is no limits to Sir Patrick's greatness
