The Saturn strikes me as a pretty collector unfriendly console. Not that I don't want one.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

If you're just buying for collector reasons, buy the Saturn.
    No brainer.

If you're buying the system to actually play...then only buy it if you can get two or more of the following games (IMHO)

Any fighting game, since the Saturn controller is the best...

    Panzer Dragoon (1, Z, Saga)
    Nights
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy
4 in 1 cart for imports
    X-men vs. Street Fighter (import)
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter (import)

A Saturn would of course be my choice, but for a truly epic array of Saturn titles you will need to import and have deep pockets

If you're trying to maximize your money just use your PS3 to play PS1 games since every PS3 is PS1 compatible. You can also download a bunch of PS1 games right off the PlayStation Network on your PS3.

I love both systems almost equally. There's really no reason to own an original Playstation though. 99% of PSX games can be played on PS2, PS3, or a hacked PSP. There's also emulation, but I'm not really sure how good that is.

If you're on a budget, Playstation is probably better, as it has a large number of cheap but worthwhile games, and its games are fairly abundant / easy to find. However, if you're into RPGs (which is definitely one of the system's strengths), expect to pay a decent chunk of money for most of them.

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
