I haven't been able to get my Menacer gun to work with Revolution X for the Sega Genesis. I read the instructions manual and it says nothing about the Sega Menacer. It leads me to believe either of two things:
1. There were more than one version of the game (one of which doesn't play with the Menacer).
2. There's no such thing. Revolution X does NOT work with your Menacer gun.
Anyways, can anybody help? I was really looking forward to trying out something other than the 6-Game cart with my Menacer.

Judging from using the rom, it doesn't support the Menacer.

No word of menacer in the manual suggests no menacer support, all else seems to support this.

Wikipedia mentions the game has Menacer support, but then there aren't many people in the world who can confirm or debunk it, so the writer might have just assumed the Menacer would be supported. In other words, it could be wrong.

Incorrect, true light guns (non-IR) won't work with LCD or Plasma displays (due to lack of the 60 Hz raster scan beam, with the entire frame refreshed simultaneously instead) or with high frequency refresh CRTs, but should work with all 60 Hz Standard Definition (480i) CRTs including flat screen. (576i 50 Hz PAL) I'm not sure about HD CRTs running at standard 60/50 Hz refresh, or ED CRTs (480p) for that matter. Originally Posted by TheEdge

Yup, Edge, I'm using a round screen tube tv, 32 inch, black and as good as it gets with retro gaming. My menacer works with its 6-game cart, though. But not with Revolution X. Now I really want T2 . It seems to be the only real choice for now. Bummer, I really enjoyed Revolution X at the arcades back in the day (also T2).

it was never on the list of supported menasor games
as far as i knew it was only t2 and bodycount other than the pack in multigame

Menacer works with Corpse Killer, too. Not such a great experience though.

I thought it was common knowledge that despite being an arcade gun game none of the console versions were light gun compatible.
I remember that really pissing me off with the Saturn version too.
