Default Good retro videogame Ebay sellers

So I finally got around to setting up a Paypal/Ebay account and realized there is a TON of retro videogames up for sale on ebay, the only problem is most of them are either overly expensive or the sellers are charging WAY to much for shipping.
My question is, does anyone know any good sellers that have/specialize in retro gaming?

the trick is to just learn to type in the right keywords for the broadest search and clicking the little pull down menu in the upper right and clicking the option that says "sort by lowest price+shipping." That way, you see the price and shipping upfront and can do the mental math to see what the total comes out to be. I always consider the price+shipping when comparing sites and brick and mortar stores vs. some people that honestly think they got Final Fantasy VII for 1¢ when shipping was $69.99.

You just have to keep looking around, you could spend all day on there waiting for something good to pop up. $4.00 is the standard shipping for just about any single game. Obviously, you get more for your money if you win lots instead of single games.

There are some stores selling, I think, and I think they're sometimes a bit more reasonable than individuals with prices. A lot sellers know they have what people want, and are looking to make a killing off of it, others just think they're selling junk and it'll be dirt cheap. It's a gamble.

this is why going for auctions vs. buy it nows and individual sellers vs. stores is the way to go. Stores with Buy-It-Nows usually will have high prices either because they know what it's worth or because someone already sniped it at a low price. Lots are definitely the way to get a bargain, especially with common games, since most people will pass on an auction full of common games they already have even if there is a desirable/rare game amongst them because they don't want the hassle of selling off all of the common games. You also save tons on shipping with bulk purchases. Unless you refuse to buy hardware from eBay, I recommend always starting off with a new system by buying it in a lot full of a good selection of games you want. It's also a nice way to get some extra controllers because you can never have too many controllers.

Thanks for the advice guys, and sonictails I'm not really looking for any Japanese games right now but thanks anyways. Whats your guy's opinion on buying items with stock pictures instead of pictures of the items itself like this store.

It's a hit and miss. I try to stay away from auctions with stock pictures because I won't know what condition it is in. They can say "Sonic 2", put up a stock picture and when you buy it you could get a loose copy thats in bad condition.

See the description to indicate whether it's complete or loose, then check the condition it's listed as, the sellers feedback, and return policy. I think a lot of stock photos are loose (at least for retro), but you just have to read.

It depends. Follow this checklist and you'll be fine:

#1 always make sure you know the exact definition of "acceptable" "good" "very good" "like new" etc. as provided by the auction/marketplace site. Amazon, Half, and I'm pretty sure eBay all list the exact definition somewhere. On most sites, if a CD or game is loose and the listing doesn't say that, if it is graded anything but "acceptable" they are guilty of fraud and will suffer penalties if they don't give you a refund. If it doesn't have a unique picture and just says "very good" or other vague statement and it is not exactly as the site demands for that condition, ask for your money back because they have deceived you according to the guidelines of the website. I believe anything with stickers on it automatically can only be "good" at best. You might say "oh, it was just a mistake," but god dammit, they chose to sell their things on that website and they should comply with the guidelines just like a brick and mortar complies with tax guidelines, etc. Letting them sell loose games with stickers as "very good" is just going to let them keep doing it to everyone.

#2 check feedback. If someone has 234324 sales and a 99% feedback, you won't get scammed and you will get your money back if you don't get what you were promised. I usually ask for further verification for people with less than 10 or so sales. Always use PayPal when possible as they insure you up to $200 IIRC and are very adamant about catching and reprimanding scammers.

#3 if the item is expensive enough, you can always ask questions. Sellers are usually dicks and give you chickenshit worthless answers, so I recommend just following rule #1 and slam their ass if the condition doesn't match the set condition requirements of the site. If people would just be more honest and take better photos to begin with, they wouldn't be asked so many questions.

Every time there is a discussion of Ebay it reminds me of all the frustrations and annoyances in using it, whether you're new to it or not.

Could someone answer me, what the hell is wrong with people who list an item as "or best offer", and won't even accept your offer of $1.50 less than their buy it now? I had this happen to me again the other day. What is the point of pretending they'll take lower? What were they expecting, me to offer them $.50 lower? Because I've had people haggle me over $.50 before. 50 cents? Are you serious?!?
