Default Is ther ea way to improve the sound of clones (liek a bypass circuit?)?

Yes, the sound is bad on these clones I have heard and experienced a little.

Is there a way to totally bypass the clone circuitry to make awhole new sound circuit that will sound nice?

Lots of issues; timing and syncing with the game, getting the data from the code, producing the sounds (speaker). Many more.

So the clones sound bad. How can they be made better? Bypass it with a kit?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but with Innex's machines out and Hyperkin's out soon, I'd like to know how to improve them.

If they are emulating the MD's chips (most probable), the only way to fix those issues is to fix the emulator itself which is contained inside the chip.

But if the audio sucks due to performance issues, then a little overclock (<10%) would be a solution, however it will raise the audio pitch too, and may screw up the LCD timing.

Externally to the chip, it's just probably an amplifier to drive the speakers (which is simple, and it doesn't create syncing problems, no matter how bad it is done)

An amp to the speaker? I was under the impression that the sound production at the chip was flawed..? If all it takes is an amp (or maybe an equalizer?) I'm up to it when I get mine. I'll definitely be experimenting.

No No, you were right! I was just saying that how bad the amp may be, it will never produce those kind of issues...

If it's a hardware clone like GenX or GN Twin, that just has crappy mixing curcuitry, then yes, it can be modded for good sound rather like a model 2 genesis. (I think Ace has done this)

The NoaC stuff has other problems with the pulse wave duty cycles though, a flaw in th eclone hardware.

With emulation based clones like the Firecore, you're kind of stuck, except for any poor quality resulting from mixing circuitry. (maybe even getting stereo)
