Again Edge, all of those articles refer to heavy doses of fluorine beyond what is considered a safe amount for regular consumption for the preservation of teeth. Britain doesn't have fluoride in the toothpaste, have you seen their teeth? At any rate, I find it a little unnecessary to introduce artificial fluorine beyond what an average natural stream would contain, but again, it's a little extreme to cry bloody murder when it's like 2345345435 on the list of things that might harm us.
^ ok.....
Sodium fluoride is classed as toxic by both inhalation (of dusts or aerosols) and ingestion.[8] In high enough doses, it has been shown to affect the heart and circulatory system, and the lethal dose for a 70 kg human is estimated at 5–10 gHealth Rating: 3 - Severe (Poison)
Lethal DosageLabel Precautions:
Do not breathe dust.
Keep container closed.
Use only with adequate ventilation.
Wash thoroughly after handling.
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.LD50, oral (goat, sheep) 100 mg/kg; LD50, oral (wild bird) 110 mg/kg.

You did mean "in the water", right? Or do you really believe that Britain is so backwards we fink dat flooride pastes iz witchcrafts?? :P Anyway... a few areas of the UK do have fluoride added to the tapwater. Not where I live yet, but they're talking about introducing it due to high incidences of child tooth decay. And I can understand why people are pissy about it. Maybe it's not as terrible as Edge says, but whatever, it's unnecessary - why add another chemical into the already terrible tap water just because of the small percentage who are too lazy to stop feeding their kids sugar-cubes in gelatine sandwiches for every meal, and don't care enough to bother making them to brush their teeth for a few minutes a day?
Of course, there's also the whole issue of nhs dentists being incredibly rare now, and private dental care being ridiculously expensive unless you have costly insurance - but that's a whole other thing which I probably don't need (and can't be arsed) to go into.
Anyway - you know there's natural fluoride in tea? Think how much tea is consumed here. If large quantities of fluoride are so beneficial, they should hurry up and ban sugar (replace it with even more shitty-flavoured aspartame, maybe) and we'd all have magic teeth that could chew up other inferior teeth by now :P
Shhht, please don't try to make sense in the presence of TheHeadlessChicken, he might hear you! - Just say that it's a terribly deadly poison put into the water by the Jews/Illuminati/Zionists/shape shifting reptiles from outer space/whatever to make you obey their orders so they can rule the world.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.
Then we set about developing killer games.
- Hayao Nakayama, Mega Drive Collected Works (p. 17)
Maybe I should have clarified this from the beginning.
There is "Calcium Fluoride" which is natural and is good for you in very low doses. Not classified as a poison.
Then there is "Sodium Fluoride" which is a toxic waste substance from aluminum plants. This is the stuff they are putting in your toothpaste and drinking water and has been classified by everyone as a poison.
Poor Jesse,
After all that Sodium Fluoride hit his brain he can't communicate unless its with pictures..........Isn't that a form of Autism now?
What's worse than sodium fluoride is prejudice. It clouds judgment in lab animals and makes some human beings unable to recognize that the cumulative effect of regular exposure to a poison negates justification of use via low dosage.
But even if a low dosage of poison was safe for consumption every single day, many times a day, for the rest of your life, how does that change the fact that there exists at this moment a clique of powerful morons you've probably never met that have no problem whatsoever secretly and deliberately deciding and implementing a medical treatment for you? If that is not evil, nothing is evil.
yeah, it's been a rough week...not much sleep, my b.
REALLY? you know what else clouds judgement in animals? alcohol.

Like I've already said, we are exposed to many poisons daily, that's what the liver and kidneys are for, it's only when we get obscene doses that overwhelm those systems that we have problems, which is why pure Sodium Fluoride is considered a poison because it's too concentrated for your kidneys and liver to handle. It's the difference between drinking from a glass cleaned with Vodka to sterilize it and has small traces left vs. chugging a 5th of Everclear.Originally Posted by Wikipedia.org entry on Fluoride Poisoning

ehhhhhh........ummmmm.....still a poison.[B]Hexafluorosilicic acid releases hydrogen fluoride when evaporated, so it has similar risks. It is corrosive and may cause fluoride poisoning; inhalation of the vapors may cause lung edema. Like hydrogen fluoride, it attacks glass and stoneware
