I know right? one of the best purchases for the PSX. I picked up a mint copy to replace my Gamestop leftover copy because I liked it so much.

Nobody argues emulation, they argue your batshit mentality towards it being a 'right' to own illegal dumps of intellectual property, how it should make a company lower costs on their own service, and how it's somehow 'preserving history'.
    [/logic flaw]

so if you think it's wrong, why do you do it?

I don't think it's wrong, I think the laws are wrong. If I'm going to buy it, I'll buy it. I said from the start PSP games weren't worth the price and I wouldn't get them unless I got them free. When the opportunity for a cheap modded PSP came along, I went for it. I find myself playing EBOOTS of PSX games and Genesis/NES games I own on it than anything. If I like what people are doing, I support it, nuff said.

    I said "a right."

    Not the opposite of wrong.

Alot of the Emulaters for the DS isn't 100%..I can run most all of my NES games in NESds..but some games have no sprites at all..I was play TMNT2 the Arcade Game, wasn't playable

    Master System/Game Gear Side..works great

SNES - doesn't do alot of game in my game Libaray.

I hope they make like ZSNES & Fusion for the DS

I had a R4DS then gave it to my GF's lil brother and bought her other brother one as well.

Currently own a Edge DS with 4GB, good card, looks like they stopped producing them though and have a AceKard 2i on the way to play with. You can't own a DS lite without a tool like EZFlash V 3in1 for gba games which you can't buy in stores now, I use the EZ V 3in1 more than anything!

Also got a Hacked PSP 2k GoW edition with 8GB, haven't played either in awhile now

It can play whatever the software you put on it supports.

Moonshell supports video playback, though, it has been forever since I've used it. It was the DPG format.

This guide seems like it will work though.

Here, have Moonshell while you're at it... yes, it really is that large.

I haven't slept in 2 days, bear with my ramblings on the subject:

For the memory cards, Japanese made > USA/Taiwan made.
Japanese ones are higher quality with longer lifespan on the read/write speed, not sure on which brand names come from where specifically anymore. Kingston is always reliable IMO.

SanDisk were crap years ago, not sure if they've improved.

What you should be looking at when picking out cards is the Class rating. You'll see a small "C" on the card with a number in the middle. Class2,4,6 thats the Read/Write speed in mbps. For Nintendo DS games you'll need Class 4 or faster to handle all the games, some will crash otherwise.

It is a flash card, so it does corrupt frequently and actually wear out with use like all memory cards. Most brands will lose speed either reading or writing specifically as it dies, they usually crap out totally after being noticed.

I got 2 years out of a Transcend Class6 card with heavy usage in my CycloDS before it even 'corrupted' and needed to be reformatted in a PC. So the lifespan is a 'Who cares?' situation for me. It could 'die completely' tomorrow and I would be satisfied with it's results.

What you should also be weary of is buying memory cards online. Most are bootlegs & not as advertised in speed or size. Buy from reputable sites like Newegg if you go down that road.

R4 is an okay game at best but it's far from my favorite Ridge Racer game. In fact there are just as many things I don't like about that game as I like about it.

Really? Most of my Memory Sticks and SD cards are Sandisk branded and they don't have any problems. Not to say that I'm biased to Sandisk, but saying that, in my experience, they're not crap. My 3 year old Sandisk Memory Stick still reads and writes fine.

Thanks for the tip. The speed of the MicroSD's could be enough to fill the entire DS ram, assuming mbps is megabytes/sec like Wikipedia says.

This is also helpful, too. Apparently the R4 card is also easily counterfeited, which is one of the reasons it's unpopular some NDS flash card communities.

On topic: I did buy a Games 'N Music before. It work OK at first, but it was slow, and the spring mechanism in the card reader broke so it wouldn't read cards without taping it in. What was worse was the cart was glued together so I couldn't unscrew it to fix it. Later, I got an Acekard 2.1 and threw away the Games 'N Music. The Acekard works better than the Games 'N Music, but the DLDI driver seems to be buggy on some games.

I'd say get the R4 if you wan't just homebrew and don't mind getting clones, Acekard if you want a good, low buget flash card, and the CycloDS if you want to be an elitist with all the best features . Also, don't get a flash card if you have a DSi, as most flash cards that are compatable with the DSi are easily blocked with a firmware update.

Have read about and experienced issues with Micro SDHC cards with the R4. Try using a Micro SD that is not HC, though I'm not sure what the capacity goes up to and how predominant the Micro SDHC are over plain Micro SD.

Well, that's the problem. I didn't find one myself, but it seems that they were made, though how many is anyone's guess. I ended up using a 2GB one and it fits the bill, I don't typically need more than that.
