If you want CD games, I would agree that you should buy a Japanese PC Engine Duo, they aren't that expensive and there's a guy that sells RGB moded units on Ebay fairly cheap that you can make work with component video with a transcoder, which is awesome.

CDs are not region specific, although you can't play any games that use the Arcade Card with an american system (that's only like..1 good game though.) Also, Japanese Hucards are usually cheaper than the US counterparts. Personally I have a Japanese modded Duo and a US Turboexpress, and I have a flash cart that I set for TG16 mode when I use the Turboexpress or PCE mode when I use the PC Engine.

You need a converter or get it modded w/ a region switch.

You can buy an actual PC Engine system for the same price.

Well to be honest a TG-16 not really worth it, but a PC Engine is. There is the uncencored version of Splatterhouse which made me happy. I mean I'd get a TG-16 for the localized games, but a PC Engine Duo for everything else. However with the rising TG-16 prices, I just got a Duo.
