The Game Gear/Master System Sonic games I cant get into much. I have Sonic 2 for GG and was really disappointed in the game. Then I read reviews on STH for Master System and how awesome that it. So I DL for the wii VC and to me it is the same shitty gameplay. I guess am just to familiar with the 16-bit versions I except way more for these games. Never Played Sonic Chaos and who ever thought of having no rings in the Boss Levels should be shot. I did actually beat Sonic 2 on Game Gear but that was ages ago.
Ha, so it is a preview, not an ad. I don't know if that makes any more sense though.
GG Sonic 2 is simply a terrible game. Cheap and impossible.
I think GG Sonic 1 is classic. I have not played the MS version, but I would expect it also to be great. Maybe these games are an acquired taste! Also, maybe the GG versions really work better altogether than the MS versions... I don't know, but I think Sonic 1 is great on GG.
The version of Sonic 1 that you downloaded to your Wii -- was it the Master System version for sure? I'm asking because I know that the GG versions are offered at times, and if you ever play GG games on TV's, it's all screwed up, and everything is disproportionate once it is blown up so much. The games were designed for the GG's tiny screen, and they just don't work right when they are blown up for a TV. I had an Xbox Sonic collection that included some Game Gear Sonic titles, but I found them unplayable.
So if you happened to have downloaded the GG version of Sonic 1, that disproportionate effect could be one reason you disliked it.
Or maybe you just don't like the actual Master System version of Sonic 1. How come? I think Sonic 1 is classic on the GG at least.
Oh, and Sonic Chaos (on GG) is also quite good. The first stage is just like the Genesis Sonic 2's first stage (Emerald Hill). You have the spin dash like Genesis Sonic 2, and you also have a peel-out just like Sonic CD!

I've definatly seen this in a mag or something around the time that game was coming out i remember getting it for christmas at the time i remeber thinking it was the best looking master system game i'd ever seeni loved my master system even more than my megadrive i have to say i had so many hours of enjoyment from it, i had to make do with it for quite a while because my mum couldnt afford a megadrive so I guess thats why i loved it so much more because i knew how hard she had scrapped together the money for it at the time.
Sonic Chaos definatly my fav master system game ever, and thats because im a huge sonic fan tootime for a game of sonic chaos

Tsk, and fie! It makes perfect sense! Poor fellow, you obviously haven't been well enough acquainted with the Queen's English as it was meant to be spoken.
(It means something along the lines of "you gargantuan coward", or "big wuss". Of course, thinking about it - I have no idea where "wuss" comes from. And don't say "America".)
Touché, old fellow!
But, if I may, a suggestion: why not try "old jockey's jodhpurs" next time? A slightly more colourful alternative, what?
It's been a couple years since I visited your side of the pond.
No wonder I can't understand you guys. lol
