Either these sounds are just generic hollywood sound clips, or Sega borrowed some Rambo screams for Goldenaxe. One can hope the latter (because that would be fucking awesome).

Yeah, I thought this was common knowledge but maybe not. Golden Axe was David Caruso's best role ever. He should be in the credits.
It would be interesting to isolate the samples to see if you could hear the background music from the movie in them.
I don't think there is one. I've tried when I had the board.
These same screams are in the Sega CD edition of Golden Axe. I'll have to see if there is a sound test that plays those samples.
I'll try to find a SCD rom of it or something. I have Fusion set up for SCD games and I might be able to probe it with some sound editor.
Actually it turns out that voice is not in the Sega CD version. Just brand new ones that run through the Sega CD PCM chip. The crowd noise from the arcade version made it into the Sega CD, though.
Then use M1.
