Happy Thanksgiving, Sega-16!
I thought I'd make this a thread where we can all be cheerful and, perhaps, give our thanks to that aspect of video-gaming that truly made a mark in our lives.
I'm personally thankful for the advent of the Sega Genesis (specifically for 2D sidescrolling platformers and shmups); which, from the times of my mid-teens until now, has shaped me the man I am today. From personal experience, I can say that thanks to my early years with the Sega Genesis, my higher-brain function has developed to a point where I can devour a textbook in hours, enough to achieve a 100th percentile on any examination; not to mention the ability to make quick decisions when necessary. And for RPGs (most of them) which, early on, gave me the ability to rationalize any given problem. I'm thankful for Sega; for helping shape my intellect.![]()
