Raiden Trad- So many seem to hate the Genesis port. I find it quite enjoyable.
Sword of Vermilion- Great soundtrack, nice graphics, decent real time battles instead of turn-based ones, but a random encounter frequency rate that's maddening. Many consider it a generic RPG, but I liked it... despite the damn attack rate.
The Immortal- People really seem to hate the game's puzzles and trial-and-error gameplay, but I enjoyed it.
Phantasy Star III- "Black sheep," "Not part of the storyline," "Goofy enemy designs," blah blah blah. I've heard all the excuses to hate it, but I enjoyed this side story.
Red Zone- The difficulty is unforgiving, and it really turned a lot of people off. But damn if I didn't have fun with this game.
Sonic 3D Blast- This game catches so much shit, but I really enjoyed it.
Whip Rush- The little shmup that could, that few ever gave a chance to.
Golden Axe III- Bashed left and right, called a game so bad Sega wouldn't localize it, but I find it to be a fun game. The backgrounds are pretty lacking, but the rest of the game is nice.
Master of Monsters- I don't even know if it can be called anything, as few seem to have played it. But it's a turn-based masterpiece for the Genesis.
Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000- I don't know. Some praise the soundtrack, but it seems the game gets shat on a fair amount. I enjoyed it, and the whole "hop on the enemy" gameplay was fun.

I actually just checked out golden axe 3 for the first time today and it isn't that bad. It was still fun to play, and was pretty similar to the previous golden axe games. Though i did feel they should have done more with it. The gameplay hadn't really changed a whole lot from the last game...they should have added some different attacks you could do or something

I love Beavis & Butthead and Race Drivin', two games people hate even though they're both pretty fun for a weekday afternoon romp.

I have always loved Bubsy, the difficulty was actually what kept me playing it.

And I actually put a lot of hours in to James Pond's Aquatic Games if you can believe that.

I don't understand this topic. People are quoting games like Super Fantasy Zone, Castlevania Bloodlines, Gynoug and Darius II as games they like that most consider mediocre when all of those games are either under a general consensus of being great games. I mean Castlevania has like an average user rating of 8.8.

On topic however, I see Zero Wing gets some flack. I however, definitely rate it. It has the nice Toaplan classic feel to it.

Yeah what's with these people saying castlevania bloodlines? Most castlevania fans would agree it's a great game. I wouldn't even consider it mediocre, i thought it kicked mofuggan ass.

It's a polarizing game. It has received a lot of bashing...
