Zero Tolerance sure looks like a programming wonder on
the stock Mega Drive. The controls are also very
good thought out and work well on a console, which
is veery seldom with 1st person shooters. I think I
once played it as a kid, at least it was something
similar to ZT on a cart I rented.

And a guy on one website rated it as worse than Sword of Sodan.

I've played it, and it's not nearly as horrible as SoS.

Hm, the only game from this list that I played
was Eternal Champions on an emulator and found
it to be awful. I don't like the Street Fighter-control
scheme much anyway, and was absolutely unable
to make any special moves in EC :-D. The graphics
however are very good. For fighting, I will always
prefer UMK3 and maybe also MK2!

I'll check out the other games you named though.

I like MK Mythologies: Sub Zero for the PSX

I've even beaten it multiple times to see the multiple endings.

Zero Tolerance looks amazing on the Genesis. Really, they outdid themselves simulating a 3d environment on this 2d system.

I don't know if this applies because the game probably sold like hotcakes but I think Street Fighter II Champion Edition is an excellent translation of the arcade to Genesis. It has good graphics, decent animations, the sound is admittably lackluster but it has excellent controls as well. Most people probably think it's just an average port. I don't think any developer could have done much better translating this arcade game to the Genesis though.

Sound: music is generally better than contemporary ports (better than SNES WW or Turbo -SSF2 catered to the SNES's sound system though, so it's more competitive), voice samples are poor (low sample rate and resolution to save space -possibly poor use of th eZ80 as well). PC Engine has the best voices from that time though, and some cool renditions of th emusic as well.

I don’t recall anyone calling this a “bad” game; most of the reviews have been surprisingly positive. It’s just that most of the folks that like it are embarrassed to be enjoying what is essentially a McDonald’s product tie-in so much!

In answer to the thread in question:

    1. Goofy's Histerical History Tour
    2. The Berenstain Bears (It's just so pretty, lol. I would trade it for every Madden Genny title ever made).
    3. I really should've thought about this longer....

Too bad they couldn't manage to get ZT as good as the renderer used foe Battle Frenzy (which has more generic/simplisitc gameplay, but much better looking and more playable with larger screen and higher framerate)

I think both games play better in 50 Hz (PAL) than NTSC. (not sure if the VDP's DMA time is a limiting factor though)

It's a McDonald's product tie-in developed by Treasure, of course it's going to be enjoyable! No reason to be embarrassed about enjoying a Treasure game.

I LOVE McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure. The whole game is a work of art.
