    sounds like the switch isn't working. Assuming it's not fully broken or the solder joint isn't damaged, you might need to either bend it a little or clean the contact surfaces (if you can't get to them with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, try blasting it with canned air duster). Worst case, you might have to disable the power eject and install a switch to tell the system the tray is open or closed and open it manually.

    If you ever have a probelm with it hanging at the bios screen or crashing after a few minuts (and then hangiong when reset) that will be the capacitors going bad. A fairly common problem among model 1s aparently. (and the only significant problem with mine)

    Not too bad for anyone with moderate soldering skills though.

    Just a heads up. (and soem models may have used better quality caps anyway, so that still may not be an issue for a long time)
