I usually come across more PSX stuff than any other type of systems..whether it be games or controllers its always Sony Playstation things and not even a good stuff.
I'll take any lower prices I can get.
I mean, my eyes have seen *cart only* copies of SMB3 marked $30(!!) and I just recently saw SMW marked $25 cart only. When did these games suddenly become rare?
I'll live with Sega getting no respect if it means I don't have to deal with laughably inflated game prices.
It just means more love for me. I recently bought CIB copies of Aladdin and Lightning Force from the Goat Store for about $22.
I definitely like the much more reasonable pricing for Sega games, but the no respect thing is kind of annoying. I can't really help it, it just gets on my nerves when some fool says something along the lines of "(Super) Nintendo is the greatest thing ever, Sega sucks and Genesis has no good games." It makes me want to start rattling off names of awesome Genesis games, but then I stop caring and go back to playing Genesis.
On a related note, does it seem kind of odd that there still seems to be some semblance of the Sega vs. Nintendo war still left in retro gamers today?

SURELY REVIVE ZANONI!
Aladdin - $8
Lightning Force - $8
S&H - $6
---------------
Total - $22
All of the used gaming stores in my regional area do not carry SEGA systems or games due to lack of demand. One store that went under did carry them but every time I stopped in the same stock was just sitting there untouched.
The nearest P&T seems to know what stuff is worth a bit more, even their Sega stuff, though they did have Kolibri for $.99, but that was marked down as it had been sitting around for a while. Then again, they had a pretty decent cabnet full of Sega stuff, as arge as the Nintendo one (though not quite as full), games for every Sega system from SMS to DC.
Most of the common nintendo stuff was priced similarly, some things like R-Type III and MMX-2/3 were up there though. Nothing Atari at all though, that's aparently the kind of stuff that's really hard to sell.
The one active Pawn Shop in my area (which feels more like a dedicated game store w/other stuff than the usual Pawn Shop. It's real clean.) has a few Sega games here and there. Actually, anything old that doesn't say Mario or Tetris on it gets put on the shelf for $10 a pop. Sometimes I'll find a good game in there.![]()
When I worked at a game store it pained me to see Genesis systems pratically worthless because everyone traded them in and hardly anyone bought them. I would extol the virtues of all things Genesis showing that it wasn't some 2nd rate has-been that the internet seems to perpetrate.
Today, I don't care nearly as much. If someone wants to blow extra wads of $$ on something molded with "Nintendo" on it, then be my guest.
However, when I was at the "$25 for SMW store" the young teen in there gave me some sass. I said I was a Genesis fan and his only reply was "I'm sorry".![]()
The PnT in Herndon that I went to last week had some nice Sega goodies but was expensive... and I already owned what was nice and expensive.
The one near in in Hybla Valley is hit and miss with goodies and sometimes prices, but that's OK.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...
Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.
