btw I believe that with the technology we have today you should be able to save anywhere or not at all. Saves shouldn't be some annoying plot device to artificially increase the difficulty (a la Resident Evil)

I like the whole idea of finish a level and you can save. But saving anywhere turns it into a save state run sort of thing, and anyone can say they beat a hard game simply because they put enough time into it. Save anywhere only really works in sandbox games, it kind of hampers other genres.
I enjoy the way the save system is set in Resident Evil and Dead Rising. It definitely makes you more worried about dying. I don't like auto saves because it takes away the risk/reward system of games. It's kinda like the old arcade days where I showed up with my weekly allowance for helping out around the house and I had to make it last as long as possible.
I don't know how I missed this thread, but: In answer to the original question, one word,'

My 15 yoear old brother says:
I gues he doesn't like a tease, that sounds liek what happens with Alucard in Symphony of Night.The more I play old games, the more new games kinda suck ...
So I'd just played through Metroid 2 for the GB and then decided to try metroid prime for the GC and got annoyed rather quickly, especially how you start fully equiped and then loose all you power-ups at th ebeginning of the game.(hey, Metroid... Metroidvania
)
i think golden eye sucks a bit now is because it doesn't have 2 joysticks , the game needs to get remade with better controls

Two N64 controllers. You can hold the middle prong with either hand; thus, you can hold two controllers for dual joystick control. I don't remember doing it with Goldeneye, but I'd imagine it sucks because A and B aren't that easy to reach. But it's great for Robotron 64.
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
I don't like using four buttons to shoot in all directions. I need a stick. I could do d-pad plus stick for that game, but I don't remember if that's an option.
